Carbon Team: Growing Mo’s and pounding pavements for Charity

Across the month of November, the Carbon team have been growing Mo’s and covering miles by walking/running/cycling all in aid of Movember. Movember’s aims are to raise money for 3 of the biggest killers of men – Mental Health and Suicide, Prostate cancer and Testicular cancer.

Globally on average 1 man dies by suicide every minute of every day, 1 in 8 men in the UK will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime, Testicular cancer is the most common form of cancer in men aged 15-39. These stark figures are why supporting Men’s Health is so important and Movember is one of the best ways to help!

Since 2003 Movember have funded over 1,250 projects aimed at tackling these issues and helping men to live happier, longer and healthier lives. The moustache has become synonymous with men’s mental and physical health and is now more than just a vehicle for raising money for Movember but also a facilitator of difficult (but important!) conversations.

Carbon set out on the 1^st of November with an aim to spread awareness, raise money, cover as many miles as possible and to try and grow some respectable lip luggage. Writing this on the 30^th of November I’d have to say we have succeeded in all of our aims! The team have raised £535.00 which Carbon has very generously matched, covered a whopping 1,329 miles and sprouted the magnificent Mo’s pictured below.
