Prize winning student offered internship

Carbon has sponsored a student prize at the University of Aberdeen for many years now in recognition that without the work of the brightest minds in the best universities around the world, the academic papers that underpin Carbon’s investment philosophy wouldn’t exist. Many such papers lead to their authors receiving the Nobel prize.

We are delighted to announce that this year’s Prize for Excellence, awarded to the top performing student on the Financial Markets (2nd Year) course, goes to Varun Sahani.

Investment Director, Barry O’Neill, met with Varun to congratulate him in person. Having impressed at our subsequent interview, we are now offering him an internship at Carbon next summer.

We have had an excellent track record of prize winners joining us for internships and two students from the Finance course have gone on to join the firm permanently, one of whom is now an Associate Director.

Congratulations to Varun on his excellent work. We look forward to welcoming him to Carbon next summer.
